At macguy2220: no! This torrent > 4 GB. You can easily assume that yonisyuumei is the only one who has the whole torrent and he is frying his internet connection with uploading it to us. The only way we can get this within a day or so is if we all seed at max upload speeds. I recommend utorrent (http://mac.utorrent.com/). If you use utorrent you can quickly see that yonisyuumei has only been able to transfer a small portion of this torrent to rest of us since the few hours that it has been available. More seeders means faster downloads.

I can understand your concern given the recent news though. Read the description; there's a tool called Pacifist that lets you look at what will be installed and where. Just run it on the install package when it's done downloading.

@ macguy2220, that's great, download/upload speeds of vuze are similar to utorrent. However, a lot of people are complaining about its interface. utorrent is clean, lightweight and simple like transmission, but it has the speed of vuze. For that reason there are a lot of switchers from vuze or transmission to utorrent.

I'm 100% sure yoshinatsu did his best to give us this popular software fast, all kudos go to him. He bought it and shares it. I bought ilife '09 as well but it arrives 5 Feb and I'm impatient :-)

Everyone else: I'm sorry I can't get this out faster... I'm capped at about 200 KB/second upload. I do get 600KB/second bursts, so from time to time I'm taking off the limiter. These bursts only last about 20 seconds, though, so it's only good for about 10 MB. :-(

Before anybody asks if somebody got this already, consider like kexxcream how much time it takes to get the full 4.36GB with so few seeders. Having that said, Seeders is up to 9, which is promising.

I strongly! suggest to use appcleaner/appzapper to kill the '08 suite before installing '09.

(put your iphoto/imovie/garageband folder in your home directory temporary on your desktop to preserve your stuff)

I know upgrading _works_ but, as always, some stuff keeps wasting diskspace.

@ultrapiratebuffer, thanks for the advise. However, I would not apply these programs in this case. If you use that software it will get rid of all "Application Support" and "Preferences" Libraries. In other words, all your configuration and customization will be lost. ilife '09 will likely use the preferences you customized from ilife '08. I personally don't not want to lose these, but if you want to start 100% clean it might be a good way to go.

@willdrumz, that's simply reality. The torrent is only up for less than 5 hours. Simply not the time yet to get a lot of seeders. Check back again in a few days if you want a smooth, ultrafast download with a lot of seeders.

@Lime6666, yonisyuumei is providing this torrent from his computer. He mentioned he has a 200 kb/s upload speed. There is only a portion of the 4.36GB he can have uploaded in the few hours he has had this torrent up. Since his connection is down and most of the stuff is still on his computers it looks like we are waiting for his connection to come back online again. I personally don't understand why the amount of seeders is 3 (and earlier 9). There is no way yonisyuumei could have uploaded 4.36GB with his 200kb/s connection in such a short period of time. That would take at least 6 hours assuming he is supplying the whole at max upload speed all the time, which is not the case.

ETA is the biggest BS in downloading. It all depends on the moment. I can guaranty you ETA will stay like cr@p until the whole thing has been uploaded by yonisyuumei, which won't happen until comcast fixes his connection. Yeah, 10.77% is the max out now. Downloaded it at about 1.3MB/s until I hit about 10.5% and it started slowing down.

My upload is maxed out at 150KB/s... not that its doing any good. I think I just might disconnect from the torrent, come back later, and then once I get it, seed to 1:1

If anyone else has the install discs and wants to help seed, just do this:

1.) Pop the single-user iLife '09 DVD into your drive
2.) Open Disk Utility
3.) Select the iLife disc in the source list
4.) File > New > Disk Image from [your DVD drive; bottom option]
5.) Choose where to save it, then start the copy. This will take 20-30 minutes
6.) Once it's done, open this torrent and tell it to save in the same spot as the iLife DMG. Make sure it has the same filename: iLife '09 Install DVD.dmg
7.) That should do it. It'll verify that your DMG is the same as mine and start seeding.

I agree, the less people you seed it to the faster it gets to those people, and when those people start to seed, the faster it gets to the rest of us. However, the rest of us have to be patient for a little while..

I gotta say. I've tried this download with Vuse, Transmission and Xtorrent. Statistics:
Vuse: DL @ 3.4
Transmission: 30-50
Xtorrent: 70-120

Now uninstalling Vuse (useless) and deleting Transmission (never quite as good as Xtorrent)
I suggest ya'll do the same. It's 25 bucks for a reason people!

Did you try BitRocket in your client test?

I use to use Xtorrent and loved it until it stopped working after a year, for no apparent reason. Since then, I've tried a few clients and BitRocket seems to me like the best. Good interface, descent speed...
